Deborah is guest reporter for BBC Points West
Deborah has laid out how the council and local businesses are working together to make this a reality
Deborah commented that "In the face of cuts in public funding, the town council - like many across the west - is stepping in to balance the books''.
"Before Article 50 was triggered last month, a local group bid for £100,000 of European money to develop the waterfront here, so day-trippers can explore the Parrett and so anglers and local people can use this fantastic stretch of water''
The report features local businessman Marc Fuller, town councillor Ian McNabb - who has been refurbishing a boat to sail on the river - and Peter Roberts, owner of Kitchen and former chairman of the Langport Area Business Group.
Mr Roberts said: "I think there's that opportunity now to reimagine it (the River Parrett) as a place for visitors to come and enjoy it as a tourist attraction almost in itself."
