Eco friendly cleaning tools for the home
Seep; Plastic-free cleaning tools
Say hello to sustainable, everyday, essential products, otherwise known as Seep. They are the little company on a big mission to eliminate 1 billion plastic cleaning items from landfill by 2030.
While Brits spend £5bn every year making their homes clean, most of the products they are using aren’t. Laura Harnett, founder of Seep, experienced the reality of this on a trip to her local supermarket where she found some great sustainable cleaning and laundry liquids, but no non-polluting cleaning tools to use them with.
Laura and her team believe everyone should be able to carry out household chores without hurting the planet. That’s why they have created a plastic-free range of home care products, which includes sponges, cloths and bin liners that are easy to use, easy on the planet and easy on the eye.
Since launching in late 2020, they have prevented nearly 3.5 million plastic cleaning tools from going to landfill, of which they estimate 55% of their products have not reached landfill at all.
You can help them achieve the goal by getting Seep’s plastic-free cleaning tools on their website, or you can find them in Tesco, Ocado, Robert Dyas, Booths, Whole Foods and Planet Organic.
People are more conscious than ever about the impact their lives are having on the planet and are looking for fresh solutions which don’t cost the earth or involve huge behavioural change. When Laura presented Seep it was clear that she is a capable and experienced Entrepreneur, recognising but unfazed by the challenges ahead. Her clarity of purpose and focus on the plan combined with a thoughtful and carefully curated range of eco friendly cleaning products made it a compelling pitch and I made her an offer….I was also really delighted when Trinny made an offer to share the investment and even more delighted when Laura accepted!!
